Explore Virginia’s Past
Virginia Archaeology Month is a statewide celebration of the people, places, and discoveries that shape the Commonwealth’s history. It brings together archaeologists, museums, local organizations, students, and community members to learn from the past.
The 2026 poster highlights underwater archaeology, inviting visitors to consider the waterways, submerged landscapes, and research methods that help reveal and protect Virginia’s cultural resources.
