Blue Ridge Plateau
The Blue Ridge Plateau Chapter in southern-southwest Virginia is dedicated to identifying, protecting and preserving the rich archaeological heritage of the region. Regional field trips, projects, and education opportunities.
The Colonel Howard MacCord Chapter participates in annual Field Schools, lab work, and other projects. Meetings feature presentations on various projects, lab work, hands-on experimental archaeology, and more.

Headwaters
The James / Roanoke /New River Headwaters Chapter (AKA Headwaters Chapter) is located in the foothills, Blue Ridge, and Ridge and Valley of Virginia with a focus on middle and upper drainages of the three major river systems. The chapter welcomes all individuals with an interest in the archaeology and cultural history of the region and beyond.
Historic Triangle
The Historic Triangle Chapter serves the Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown area. In our area are opportunities to work with and learn with some world-class archeologists. Members participate in fieldwork, lab work, and lectures.
Maritime Heritage
The Nansemond promotes the study of archeology and anthropology, and educates through field work, meetings, lectures, exhibits on the prehistoric and historic periods in Virginia.
Massanutten
The Massanutten Chapter is located in the central Shenandoah Valley. Chapter members participate in survey and excavation of archaeological sites, lab work with artifacts, field trips, and fellowship activities.
Middle James River
The Middle James River Chapter consists of all having a strong interest in archaeological investigations, history and past work in the area of Virginia between Lynchburg and Charlottesville, and other areas in proximity.
